What does the dash size (e.g. -8) mean?
It's the hose inside diameter in sixteenths of an inch, so -8 = 1/2". See our dash size chart.
What's the difference between R1 and R2 hose?
SAE 100R1 has a single wire braid (medium pressure); R2 has two wire braids for roughly double the pressure. More in our SAE hose types guide.
Do you cut hose to length?
Yes - order the length you need, or have us crimp a complete assembly using the Assembly Builder.
How do I choose the right hose?
Match the bore (dash size), the working pressure (SAE/EN type) and the fluid compatibility of the hose you're replacing - and never downgrade the pressure rating.
What's the maximum working pressure?
It depends on the type and size, and it drops as the diameter increases - check the specification table on each hose's product page for the exact figure.
